i'm really excited to be making these new little hanging macrame plant holders. I love macrame hanging plant holders but often they are sooo busy and take away from the already beautiful plants they hold. mine are the complete opposite! 100% simple, 100% handmade, 100% cotton, and hand dyed if they are dyed at all!

we have been in Portland for three months and I am in love with every part of this city. work has been bulldozing me into the ground lately but it has just made me cherish days off even more than ever.

I just started renting a space in a vintage shop called "House of Vintage" about a week ago which has been really incredible so far. I always loved stepping into this store and checking out all of the weird and fun things they offered. real real neat to have an opportunity to get my foot in the door and find out if people like my wack style. it's reeeeeally reassuring to come into a store and find out that yes! people do like my things. out of control. it's really blowing my mind and making me even more ready to open my own little shop in the very near future.

for my advertising class I have been asked to discuss my two most liked and preferred forms of social media with a focus on marketing!

1. Facebook - I have a very love/hate relationship with this website but I really love the fact that I can post a brand new piece and show it to all of my "friends" online in one quick and easy spot. 2. Etsy - Not only is Etsy an incredible website for buying and selling amazing goods, it is also a social media site! You can follow friends, create treasury lists, read incredible blogs about buying and selling and the ins and outs of this cool new scene in DIY and handmade goods... It's really a lovely thing and I am happy to be a part of it! I even have an "I <3 Handmade" bumper sticker that Etsy made, how cute is that!

this is just a lil peek into my bedroom. i've been collecting (crap) vintage for my whole life. i've finally gotten to the point where it's less of a disaster and more of a cohesive collection of things that make sense to me. including the smokey the bear sheet set!

after living in the bedroom (pictured above) for almost a year, I've decided to move just seconds away from this lovely amazing view. sometimes I'll ride my bike out there on days off because it's just so neat but now I'm so shocked to say that I'll be moving there!
